Welcome to the Lincoln, NE Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon

April Newsletter From Our President (4/5/04):

Hello Mu Phis!

Can't believe that it's already April! I sure am ready for spring! I want to remind all of you to bring your recipes for the recipe box. For $.25 you can choose a recipe from the recipe box. I would love to see recipes for the hot broccoli chicken casserole, the jello pretzel cream cheese salad and the salad with sliced peaches or apples in it (Hint! Hint!) We will also be reinstituting the change bowl at meetings. Also, we are looking for a site for the garage sale. Is any one willing to host it?

One important item of business, IEO is asking us to vote on whether to hold convention in 2007 rather than 2006. Election of IEO officers would take place at this convention. I need to have our vote to them by April 15 so it would be much appreciated it you could give Liana Sandin your aye or nay when you let her know whether or not you are attending our April 13th meeting.

A note from Joy Maag on our annual picnic:
Jen and Lincoln Alums, I'd like to set the date for our picnic on June 15th, a Tuesday at 6:30 PM. We'll probably actually plan to eat around 7:00. I will provide beverages and all table service necessary. Members may bring a covered dish to share. Let's plan on making it a family event, if they want to; it's OK with us. We do have an enclosed garage in which to eat in case the weather is less than ideal! Casual dress, of course. Boat rides available! I am sure the callers will get an attendance count to me for setting up tables and chairs. Thanks much! Joy

Also, Jack Rinke has created a web site for the Lincoln Mu Phi Chapters. He has graciously agreed to maintain and fund the website. I believe he is in the process of getting the URL registered. At this point, the planned address is www.muphi-lincoln.org. The website will contain information on both collegiate chapters as well as the alumni chapter. It also contains a calendar of events that will be editable by the members.

Last but not least, our next meeting is April 13th at 7:30 pm. We will hear a performance by the Lincoln Harp Circle of which I'm a part! We will also be presenting and voting on the slate of officers for next year. I hope to see all of you there!

Mu Phi Love,

Jennifer Buehler
